NSP’s Clinical Inquiry Training Program is developed and delivered by our expert Nurse Scientists, who have extensive experience training nurses in nursing inquiry. Our curriculum is grounded in real-world clinical application–not academic theory–and is fully customizable to your organization’s EBP model, resources, and strategic goals.
We offer three program formats to meet your organization’s needs:
An introductory course designed for direct-care nurses, professional governance leaders, and educators. Builds foundational knowledge of clinical inquiry and creates excitement for incorporating EBP into daily practice.
A comprehensive program that takes nurses from developing answerable clinical questions through project design, data collection, and dissemination planning. Participants leave with a fully developed project ready for organizational review.
Our most intensive format. Nurses complete the full clinical inquiry planning cycle–from spirit of inquiry through project pitch presentations–with dedicated consultation time with NSP Nurse Scientists. Includes follow-up coaching at 1, 6, and 12 months post-training.
Clinical Inquiry Training in nursing integrates the best available research, clinical expertise, and patient values to improve patient care. It empowers nurses to ask meaningful clinical questions, evaluate scientific evidence, and apply that knowledge directly to their work at the bedside. Through structured methodologies like PICOT question formulation, critical literature appraisal, and outcome measurement, EBP transforms traditional routines into informed, patient-centered interventions.
At Nursing Science Partners, our clinical inquiry training goes far beyond theory. We teach nurse-led evidence-based practice, meaning every component—from literature reviews to dissemination—is geared toward real-world nursing applications, not academic generalities. Our modules emphasize practice improvement, data-driven decision-making, and frontline innovation that aligns with ANA Magnet® requirements.
Hospitals that aspire to or maintain Magnet Recognition need a robust infrastructure for clinical inquiry. Our programs are designed for nurse teams in hospitals that do not have access to a full-time nurse scientist, especially in underserved or rural communities. Collaborating with our nurse scientists allows your team access to elite-level training and consultation without the long-term overhead.
Our evidence-based practice education is tailored for:
CNOs, VPs, and Nursing Directors looking to meet Magnet standards and improve nurse retention through professional development.
Professionals seeking to embed inquiry and QI principles into everyday workflows and nursing curricula.
Clinicians that are ready to move beyond task-based care and lead evidence-driven improvement in their units.
Organizations that need high-impact solutions without the resources to maintain an internal research department.
Participating in an evidence-based practice course from Nursing Science Partners isn’t just about gaining knowledge—it’s about transforming care and culture. Nurses and organizations benefit by:
